Review: Mr. Burberry Fragrance

It been good 3-4 years that i reviewed a perfume or attended a launch of one. But this time the folks at Scentsation went an extra mile and arranged an exclusive event for bloggers to come experience and eventually walk away with the new fragrance by British fashion brand Burberry.

The fragrance in question Mr. Burberry looked conspicuously similar to Dunhill custom with its solid square crystal bottle and small gabardine bow tied below the cap. Touted to be the masculine companion to their earlier feminine release My Burberry from 2014.What’s great is that it’s launched at the same time here in Pakistan, as it has been released abroad.

The event itself where the folks from Scentsation engaged with bloggers and influencers from digital sphere concluded with treasure hunt of sorts where they had to find various cues bearing elements of British imagery. The one who spotted the most a beauty blogger named Nida Moughal went home with snazzy tab as a prize.
The generous folks at Scentsation were kind enough to give each male blogger a miniature bottle which I took home and tried over the weekend, hence I am reviewing it. I have owned and used many few Burberry fragrances over the years and I like the fact that they are not too bold and up your alley.

Mr. Burberry to start with is not for the creative types, it’s pleasantly subtle and “soft”. Its starts off with a fresh minty grapefruit notes then mallows down to an almost sweet sandal base. This evolution on me is the only thing I like about it because I could wear it and go on throughout my day (I can’t do it with fragrances like Kenneth Cole’s black for instance). It’s an eau de toilette( 5-15% aromatic compounds) and it lasted for almost 5 hours on me while I ran my regular errands.

Pros: Grey liquid and sturdy bottle, discreet smell for summer day wear
Cons: Too generic for folks who tend to go for unique blends

Oh here is their racy advertisement shot by Steve McQueen featuring actor musician Josh Whitehouse supported by Amber Anderson.

Any one of you who is looking to smell gentle yet pleasant(in metropolitan discreet sorta way) in this hot summers of ours, so do visit your nearest Scentsation store and give it a try on your skin. Maybe it’s the one for you.
